Daz just did another Build Your Own Grab Bag event, which is always a big favorite of mine. This time I picked up my top three wish-list items –
- dForce Primal Scream Outfit for Genesis 8 Female(s) – Great fantasy outfit. I especially love the cords and beads, as well as skin exposure. This one will definitely make an appearance in many of my future images. 🙂
- Y’vas Outfit for Genesis 8 Female – Aeon Soul outfits are always highly detailed with lots of mix and match options. Been eyeing this one for a while now.
- So Attitude poses for Genesis 8 Female – Another Aeon Soul product. Fabulous strong women poses.
In general though, April was a quieter month for me. This is mainly because I blew most of my budget at the beginning of the month (during the tail end of March Madness). Therefore, my top three April picks come from early April –
- School Girl Costume Set for Genesis 8 Female(s) – I have always loved this outfit and I am glad that they translated it to G8F. Simple and sexy. Another school girl uniform that looks interesting is dForce JK Suit for Genesis 8 Female(s). Will be especially great for anime characters.
- Tengu for Cyborg Generation 8 – Cyborg samurai, unique and awesome cool!
- Sci-Fi Doomsday Device – Love this and it is a freebie! Different, original, and bad-ass. Harley Quinn will love this.

1st Place – Spring Showers
Artist – scorpio
What a creative and delightful composition!
Love how she sprouts out from a flower to catch raindrops. Her character design is brilliant, with petals for her hair, pink wings, and the lovely AlphaKini outfit.
The very graceful pose suits her perfectly, is dynamic, and fits splendidly with the theme of the piece. It also shows-off her youthful pixie face and pretty smile to great effect. Finally, wonderful spring color scheme with the pinks, purples, and greens.
A charming image, capturing renewal, growth, and hope.
The judges were also very impressed with Crash Landing. A colorful and detailed landscape, with a beautifully wrought storied scene. Excellent feature of DzFire’s Damaged Corridor Construction Kit.
2nd Place – A Welcome to the Stranded

This image tells a fascinating story.
I especially love how expressive the Dakotaraptor is. He seems to be enjoying the girl’s company, with that large grin on his face. I wonder what he is saying to her, since she is listening with all of her attention. Perhaps he is answering her questions, while trying to charm her with wit and humor. Her partner is trying to repair their little ship, but I imagine him listening in on the conversation and smiling to himself.
Stonemason’s Willow Creek provides a highly detailed and marvelous backdrop. Superb work!
3rd Place – The Change Is Upon Me
Artist – Stalest
A very arresting portrait.
Her fiery red-hair catches our attention right away. Then, one is struck by her unusual eyes, their colors moving and changing, as if in flux. She is covering her face, trying to hide the changes that are happening before our very eyes. Is she fearful or ashamed of her metamorphosis?
Fantastic details like the popping veins on her face, as well as strained muscles on her face and arm greatly enhances the mood and tension of the image. The saturated, hot colors, further add to the intensity of the scene.
The transformation is a difficult one, and not something that she desires. Perhaps like in Ladyhawk, it is a curse that separates her from the people whom she loves. Amazing job in creating an evocative portrait that tells a powerful story.
3rd Place – A Helping Hand

Always love the rich stories told by your images.
Superb details with all the different people coming together to give each other a helping hand. I like the different types of clothing, together with the dynamic and expressive poses.
Masterful combination of various environments and props to create the expansive and striking backdrop. The dry vegetation from Australian Outback combined with the power-lines from The Road to Madirac creates the perfect apocalyptic mood. All the missiles being fired in the distance, combined with the large wreckage, further drives the point home. In addition, DzFire’s Little Brute is marvelously featured.
Excellent work with the hazy environment and sunset sky. They work together with everything else to enhance the atmosphere of the piece.

A zombie party – what a brilliant concept!
Terrific poses all around, especially the main pair who are really kicking it up in front of the band. Love how her dress and hair are flying all over the place as she dances the night away. The blondes always have the most fun! 😀
Great job in creating a real party atmosphere, with lots of party zombies, all decked out differently, as well as some with hats and necklaces. I like that there is even kind of a buffet area in the back, and everyone has their own group, with some talking, others dancing, playing music, or just zombie watching.
I am usually not a fan of zombies but you really made this group fun and lively. Fantastic job!

Fabulous pin-up featuring the Thunderbolt by Pretty3D.
What could be more classic than a blonde girl posing with a hot car. Great upward angle on the camera and love how the wind blows her hair, adding wonderful movement to the picture.
Cool use of saturated colors. The bright yellow really makes the car pop, and goes well with the model’s blonde hair. Her solid red dress and blue shirt are a nice contrast to the car. It helps separate her from the vehicle without making the image too busy.
Apocalyptic by JoJoS
Excellent apocalyptic mood and composition.
This image caught my attention right away because of the very dramatic lighting. Love the cloud patterns of the sky and the single strong light source.
Fabulous feature of Code Squad 01 for Genesis 8 Female(s) and its accompanying texture set. It is perfect for an apocalyptic theme and looks great from the back as well as front.
Adding the dirty dog next to the girl is a superb touch. Things may look bleak but she is walking bravely into the future, with a loyal friend.
