Wow! March Madness definitely started out with some totally awesome deals this year!
I especially loved the couple of days where there was an added 10% for cart purchases over $50. I hope they repeat that in the coming days. Together with the 70% flash discount deals or Landon 8 discounts, I was able to pick up some older items that I have always wanted including several bundles by Fugazi1968, Dakotaraptor, Tyrannosaurus Rex 2, GF Spider Mega Bundle, Gargoyle for Genesis 8 Male, and Sharks by AM: Great White.
In terms of new March Madness items, my favorites so far are –
- HD Cello and Poses for Genesis 8 – Protozoon musical instrument poses are always top-notch.
- Carnivorous Plant HD – This bad-ass plant figure is unique and just awesome cool!
- FLUIDOS Presets: Waves – I just got FLUIDOS during the wishlist sale in February, so this looked like a good addition. Will be interesting to try them both.
March 2019 Contest Vendors
Following our usual March Madness tradition, we will not be picking vendors this month. Instead, we will use the entire March Madness catalog! Qualifying images in March must contain at least one NEW item released during the Daz 2019 March Madness Sale. It can be any item, even free items.
SOF-1A for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s) and anything released after that, in the list above, will work!
1st Place – Kings of the Jungle
Artist – Ninja Bunny
Haha! I love it!
What a brilliant idea to put these two together. Superb feature of the Carnivorous Plant, showing how it can be effectively used in a creative, unique, and potent composition. It also fits in well with Herschel Hoffmeyer’s Hell Creek Modules.
The poses are perfect, as is the framing of the image. In addition, depth of field and a great background image make the scene look large and realistic. I also like the high detail of the two figures as well as the environment.
BlumBlumShub’s comment is hilarious. The power of an innovative creation such as this, is that it encourages more clever ideas and innovation.
2nd Place – Blind Love
Artist – Karibou
“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.”
~ [A Midsummer Night’s Dream, William Shakespeare]
What a fabulous concept, and it goes perfectly with your Shakespeare quote.
I love the richness of the scene and how you combined many different sets to create the fantastic outfits and backdrop. Adding water lilies to the water in Platea makes the environment more feminine and romantic. The candlelight is excellent and further adds to the mood of the image. Terrific work on the statues. They look more like marble rather than stone, which I think further contributes to the ambiance of the night.
The camera work is outstanding. Wonderful top-down angle, with the floor plane slightly rotated. It is unique and frames the setting masterfully; placing the main figures in the front corner, while allowing a good view of the building, statues, water, light, and reflections in the background.
Medusa and her blindfolded paramour are marvelous, with dark red matching outfits and awesome accessories. I didn’t know that RawArt has a Medusa Maker for Genesis 8 Female, so that quickly went into my wishlist.
3rd Place – Flying Side Kick
Artist – kadaj777
Cool dynamic image and great looking freebie suit. Thanks for providing a link to it!
Amazing work on the poses and motion blur. I especially like that you made the main figure sharp while motion blurring the other figure and backdrop. The effect works rather well.
Brilliant choice of combining Iray GraffitiWorx with Junk Alley. The added graffiti enriches the environment and fits into it seamlessly. Your image shows off the power of KindredArts’ product and the Iray Decal Node.
An incredible composition with superb movement, background, effects, and camera work.
3rd Place – Rapture Service
Artist – Stalest
Fabulous idea with excellent details!
I love how tricked-out the bike is, with all those additional guns and add-ons. Also, clever add of the Sci-Fi Flying Drone, helping his master perfect his latest prototype. Reminds me of the helper robots in Tony Stark’s lab.
Terrific job in combining Solaris Cabin with Sci-fi Hanger A and Cargo Units 2 to create a rich, unique, and detailed bike workshop. From your product list, I also found STRINGS by Mechasar. The ability to connect various wires, chains, vines, and more to props is something that I have always wanted. Can’t believe I missed this! Into the wish-list it goes.
Awesome work and thank you for listing your products used.
Amazing pose, with her face upturned to the volumetric sunlight. The brightness on her face also contrasts well with the different shades of shadow elsewhere. Her dForce dress is lovely, adding softness and purity to the scene, while the light brings forth its beautiful folds and drape.
Great job on the woodsy backdrop. Very realistic variety of trees, bushes, ferns, water, rocks, and more. Tree Roots and Branches is marvelously featured. It is a perfect fit with everything else, matching them in detail and authenticity.
Awww, Bridget 8 is totally adorable and also very sexy. I think she will be very popular during the Easter celebrations. 🙂
Her pose and come-hither look is gorgeous, as is her outfit. Love her Alice in Wonderland shoes and little bunny backpack. Fantastic job in kit-bashing different products together to create a unique look for her, as well as a coordinated color palette.
What an elegant piece with superb use of dForce.
I love how her hair catches on her upraised arm, as her beautiful dress drapes around her graceful form. She looks to be deep in thought and perhaps a bit melancholy.
Ansiko’s Glass House provides the ideal peaceful environment for her ruminations, amid the verdant vegetation. Simply marvelous!
