March Madness is here!
I was actually a bit disappointed at first. 50% discounts are ok, but not anything too special at Daz. However, last night I was visiting at the Daz Forum and found out about the special Bonus Buyer discount and freebies. With an added 10% discount on everything (30% on older and RDNA items) and lots of freebies, MM just got more interesting.
Here is how the Bonus Buyer thing works –
If you buy something from March Madness you become a bonus buyer. It gives you an additional discounts for a few days. If you buy anything else during that period you stay a bonus buyer.
the 10% works on gift cards, memberships, everything. If the item has an SKU under 16000 the 10% becomes 30%. This is on top of any other discounts or offers.

Today also saw the release of the Dance of Butterflies themed items including the awesome Isidora Dress, which fits beautifully over Silver’s Irisa and Wolfie’s Mariposa Hair. There is also a super cool pose and props set to go with everything else. I like this set because it is different and very creative.
March 2017 Contest Vendors
Therefore, just like last year, we will not be picking vendors this month but will use the entire March Madness catalog! Qualifying images this month must contain at least one *new* item released at Daz in the month of March 2017. It can be any item, even free items that are not part of the March Madness sale.

Fairy Village and anything released after that, in the list above, will work!
Images with the newly released Damien Demon and Elijah 7 will also qualify.

1st Place – Alien vs Alien

Very dramatic colors and lighting with superb details!
This piece captures your eye right away because of the high contrast lighting and great warm + cold color palette. I also love the attention to detail including the saliva dripping off the large alien’s mouth, the excellent textures and materials, as well as the background haze.
Wonderful light accents and looks like there is another big bad at the back! It is interesting that when there are two aliens, our affinity quickly goes to the more human looking one. We naturally assume that he is the good one, and the other is the villain. 🙂
Also love the Billy Bob image below. Another clever and creative idea, showing Josh Crockett’s incredible Exile Alien in a totally new light. Amazing work!
2nd Place – Steamy Window

Fantastic character as well as steam and condensation effects.
Love how Swam’s Long Hair for G3F is combined with the feathered earrings, necklace, and golden headpiece. She is a very beautiful tribal princess trying to escape from her glass prison. Masterful combination of 2D brushes, and brilliant use of the green highlights to make the figure pop-out from the background.
The Dracula image below is also outstanding and a big favorite with the judges. Terrific character design, pose, expression, and everything else. The cross with ruby is an especially good accent piece, which effectively sets the theme and tone of this marvelous picture.
2nd Place – Dragon Within

Gorgeous and emotionally powerful image, with amazing dynamic poses.
The wind-blown hair and dress as well as her pose capture elegance, poise, and grace; very much like the dragons across the lake. The larger, clawed hands are a great touch, and points to the beginning of a transformation.
Superb feature of Carefree Hair, showcasing the versatility and movement morphs of goldtassel’s wonderful product. Also excellent use of Ron’s Glitter to highlight the enchanted land across the water.
Just an awesome composition, which captures a myriad of emotions. It feels peaceful, magical, wistful, dreamy, reflective, and much more. I love it very much.
3rd Place – The Fight

Terrific action, poses, and scene.
I especially like the pose of the horse, which is wonderfully dynamic, with a fantastic attack expression. The paladin warrior woman looks incredible, and she does a fabulous job in showing off the Gentle Paladin outfit, as well as the cool movement of Carefree Hair by goldtassel.
Marvelous backdrop, with the spooky trees enhancing the overall dark mood of the image and also framing the main figures. The Moon is a perfect addition.

3rd Place – Mer-angel

Awesomely creative character and brilliant combination of items.
Love this combination of mermaid, angel, and bird-headdress from Calyphlox Codex. It all goes amazingly well with Marcius’ Twille texture and morph. As soon as I saw her, I pictured her swimming through the clouds. She is with her sisters, all in different colors and sparkling like gems in the sunshine.
The Sword Behind the Rose is another favorite with excellent character and composition; strength combined with beauty and vulnerability. The sword in contrast to the rose, the dress in contrast with the sword, the dragon in contrast with the girl. Very well done!

Mika 7 looks adorable in her IJ Rustic Maiden dress. I also love the combination of elements in the environment. Excellent depth and colors.
