I always end up going over-budget in the Daz December sale and last month was no exception. There were many superb items, but one that really stands out for me is Charlotte 8. I love her face, skin, makeup options, and expressions look great on her. Charli Hair that is included in pro-bundle is also excellent. In addition, there was a super-cool tattoo set by Pixeluna that was released as an add-on item. Bonus added discount!
Another favorite of mine is the Bounty Hunter Outfit. Great details and textures on this ensemble, with some wonderful mix-and-match options. I have always been a big fan of Luthbellina and I am so glad that she is now making a lot of Daz Original items.
Last but not least, there is the amazing Linda Ponytail Hair by outoftouch. Super realistic, fabulous textures, with fantastic style and movement morphs. This one is simply brilliant!
January 2018 Contest Vendors
So to open the new year, we have a fun balance of character, outfit, and hair vendors. 🙂
The newly released Charlotte 8 and Sakura 8 will also qualify.
1st Place – Magic Potions
Artist – RLove
Marvelous dynamic composition and camera angle.
What an eye-catcher! The thing that jumps out at you immediately is the movement in the piece. The pose, hair, expression, everything, on the running girl is excellent. You captured the “she woke up late and is running to class” mood very well. Raiya and outoftouch’s Eleanor looks absolutely adorable here.
Brilliant touch with the falling potion bottles as she reaches to grab them. It makes the image even more lively, adds to the story, and endears us to the main character. I also love all the reflections on the bottles from the girl and the table.
Last but not least, the camera angle and framing is perfect. It gives the picture terrific depth and forward movement. The judges also loved What is this?, Rising Sun, and Agent Sapphire. All of them have compelling characters, are superbly posed, and are very striking.
2nd Place – Layla Elf
Artist – Drakenborg
What a magical image!
Magnificent elf character with an awesome feature of Topmodel Updo Hair by OOT (outoftouch). Especially lovely work in posing the hair and capturing some wind action. Pose and expression are wonderful.
Her companion is fantastically adorable with his big furry ears and cool body markings. All this is brought out by the beautiful soft lighting and light accents.
A fabulous piece of fantasy art.
3rd Place – Hunters Aim
Artist – Shozai
What a dramatic image! Could be a movie poster.
I love the high contrast lighting and unsaturated colors. Outstanding pose and great use of the flock of dragons by DzFire. After seeing this picture, it went into my wishlist right away.
Brilliant character and feature of Christina Hair by outoftouch. Her black outfit is perfect, as is the fine cape draped over her. Superb detail on the rocks at the bottom.
Incredibly realistic and an eye-catcher.
Fabulous work with the character materials from the skin, to hair, to eyebrows.
Excellent detail on her skin, with the freckles and realistic bump. I also like that you matched her eyebrows with her hair, and her eyes are deeply captivating. The result is a terrific portrait of Cailin for Victoria 7 and Side Tail Hair.
Wow! What a cool storied scene.
Love Pix – Synx as the elf queen, creating an interesting sci-fi and fantasy combo character. She looks very regal with that pose and hair, plus Josh Crockett’s Orc HD makes for an outstanding henchman.
The environment is also incredible, with that great kingly statue in the background. Gives the entire scene an added layer of gravitas. Awesome work!
Marvelous smoldering look!
Totally love the expression and pose, as well as how you used lighting to enhance her powerful stare. Wonderful use of OOT’s dark Christina Hair to frame her face. The darkness of her hair, combined with the dark eyebrows and makeup, give her a very sultry look. That darkness also contrasts well with her ruby red lips.
