It is December! This year has certainly been challenging and full of political drama. It is also the Holiday season, which is a good time to pause and be thankful for all the things that we have. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! 😀
Minions figure was created for us by Sixus1 Media. They have some unique and wonderful characters, as well as clothing, so definitely check them out. Please note that this is fan-art and just for fun. Minions is a trademark and copyright of Universal Studios.
In Daz-land, we have some great sales and freebies. I have always been a fan of ilona’s poses, so I was very excited with her new Perfect Beauty – Poses. In fact, I couldn’t wait to use it, so I created the image below right away. It was also a good opportunity to play around with Daz Studio’s new dynamic cloth system – dForce.
There have also been some fabulous new girls from Silver. My current favorite G8F morph is Silver’s Malia, who is also featured in the image above.
Today also marks the start of the awesome Holiday Rewards Sale. I love this sale because there is always some great stuff at great prices. Make sure to keep an eye out for the incredible new clothing set from Arki! 😀
December 2017 Contest Vendors
In honor of all this, we will have five featured artists this month!
1st Place – Gimmeeeee!
Artist – Hypertaf
A fantastic fairytale told here with amazing poses and expressions. Great choice of outfit for the girl, and AprilYSH’s Perrin Hair fits her perfectly.
Rich and vibrant scene, with flying bees, bright vegetation, and a sunny sky. A happy day of adventure with one friend helping another. We could use more of this in these times.
2nd Place – Sugar Skull Elf
Artist – mugzie101
Wow! Brilliant Christmas pin-up – sensual and unique.
Fabulous idea to combine Silver’s Sugar Skulls: Skelita with a Christmas girl outfit. It is exactly this unusual combination that makes the image very striking, together with the dramatic high-contrast lighting.
Awesome use of materials, especially the fur shader on the hat and outfit. A simple but powerful and eye-catching piece.
The judges also enjoyed Unlikely Trio. This is another creative piece with a trio or beautiful but dangerous characters. Marvelous dynamic poses on the dragon and panther, as well as feature of Arki’s Miellyn Bundle.
3rd Place – Deadly Couple
Artist – SmR
An amazing duo!
Fantastic job here not only in bringing together two excellent characters, but also in matching them so well. I love the consistent skins, hair color, and hair styles. They look totally bad-ass and like they belong together, as advertised by the title.
Also great atmosphere and lighting. The misty dark environment enhances their bad-assery, as does the high contrast lighting. Magnificent feature of War Beasts: Uhrag by Sixus1 Media.
3rd Place – Intruder
Artist – Chanteur-de-Vent
Such an arresting image that captures so many things.
Based on the title and description, the story is one of meeting, mistrust, and miscommunication between two different species.
When I saw this though, my first thought was a futuristic circus. The skates and flamboyant outfits has that circus or carnival feel to it. Then it reminded me of a similar scene in Phantom of the Opera. Cruelty toward those who are not like us, toward those who are vulnerable – the not very pretty side of human nature. Disturbing but very apropos in these times.
Interacting figures are always difficult to get right, but you did a terrific job here. Both figures look very natural and their expressions capture the emotional depth of the image. I also love the wonderful skin textures, which are realistic and detailed.
An eloquent composition showing tenderness, warmth, happiness, and love.
Awesome character and composition.
The white flowers are an excellent touch. They soften up the scene and together with the sky backdrop, give the image a peaceful, heavenly feel. AprilYSH’s Quincy Hair fits both character and environment perfectly.
A very eye-catching piece, with a great pose, and serene mood.
Another image with superb interacting poses!
I especially love how you posed her hair. Hair is always difficult for a horizontal pose, but it drapes very well here and falls nicely on the floor. Shows off the pose controls of AprilYSH’s Perrin Hair very well.
A similarly great job with Adrian Hair. Fantastic job!
