We will start the year with three superb and very popular artists. They are creative, their stores are full of wonderful creations, and their products commonly make it to the most popular list on Daz. They also released some of my favorite products during the big Holiday Sale at Daz.
- Topmodel Bundle for Genesis 3 Female(s) – Such a great value for the price, especially with the Holiday loyalty rewards at Daz. OOT creates not only wonderful hairstyles, but his hair shaders are super realistic and amazing. Super Sleeky Hair and Sapphire Hair are two of my recent favorites, that I keep using over and over again. Even when I am using some other hair, I end up applying OOT’s hair shaders. Love his stuff!
- Sugar Skulls Bundle – I am a sucker for Sugar Skulls makeup so loved these characters as soon as I saw them, especially since they are made by the very talented Silver. Her characters are always stylish, beautiful, with a dash of fun! 😀
- Hex Arcanum Arsenal – The Hex Arcanum set is such an eye-catcher. Jawdrop moment as soon as I saw the promo page at Daz. I am a big fan of fantasy style art, especially with bold colors, so many of IgnisSerpentus’ products are on my all time favorites list. I especially love the Hex Arcanum Arsenal because not only are the weapons unique and wonderfully textured, but they are also dragon themed! I love dragons.
January 2017 Contest Vendors
Hope many of you will join us for our very first contest of the new year!
1st Place – The Last Golden Sword
Artist – Chanteur-de-Vent
Fantastic story, composition, movement, poses. I adore this image!
Brilliant use of the golden armor to make the Golden Sword warrior stand out, and also underscore how alone and hopeless his situation is. He is smaller and appears to be younger, which further emphasizes his courage and enhances the power of the piece. I was immediately drawn into the story, and would love to know more about the two protagonists.
The blowing leaves perfectly add to the mood of the picture. Excellent use of depth of field to show the army of soldiers but still maintain focus on the primary actors. There is energy, action, bravery, sadness, regret, and tragedy. It captures well the passing of a Golden age. Evokes that same deep feeling I get from reading a Guy Gavriel Kay book.
Truly an awesome work of art.
2nd Place – The Summoning Hour
Artist – Storypilot
Wow! Such a dynamic image with incredible camera angle and effects.
Superb use of Phantoms by IgnisSerpentus. The glow and smoke effects are terrific, and goes well with the glow accents of the jewelry on her outfit. Wonderful character; she is beautiful, otherworldly, dangerous, scary, but also alluring. Fabulous use of OOT’s Drop Wet Hair, which is one of my current favorites.
The colors are very eye-catching, with the yellows and greens on the tail and floor contrasting very well with the cool blues and purples on the phantoms and top character skin.
Finally, the movement is outstanding. She is in the middle of a very powerful spell, and you can hear/feel the energy and keening of all that activity. You know you don’t want to be around when she finishes.
3rd Place – Princess Eleanor
Artist – liKK
Super vibrant colors and a marvelous character! Awesome palette used here, and I love how the helmet, hair, character, and background hues all fit together seamlessly.
This is also an excellent feature of everything Eleanor. Not only do the character, outfit, and hair belong to the Eleanor set, but the lights are also by OOT! Bravo!
Terrific anime look and a real eye-catcher.
3rd Place – Of Water Droplets And Orchid Petals
Artist – VortigensBane
Exotic, mysterious, and beautiful. All three are magnificently captured through clever use of pose, expression, orchids, and outfit. Love the use of OOT’s Drop Wet Hair, which frames her face perfectly.
There is also a touch of the Orient to the piece; possibly from the outfit and hair, which enhances the allure of the image.
All in all, a very expressive portrait, which is difficult to achieve.
What a cool composition!
Great textures on the dragon and the dragon rider is both kick-ass and gorgeous. Wonderful attention to detail with the flags blowing in the wind, in the same direction as her hair.
Absolutely love how he looks!
I am currently reading the True Blood books and I imagine the fairies in the books would look exactly like this character. His expression and pose are brilliant, and the hair is soft, realistic, and dynamic. An outstanding character and magical composition.
Terrific action and expressions!
Amazing water effects!
Love how the water looks in Iray and especially how it flows around her body. Excellent wet skin shaders, and of course OOT’s Drop Wet Hair fits right in.
Cool jungle backdrop elements as well, and fabulous idea with the butterflies. 😀
Incredible atmosphere, lighting, and smoke effects.
Valiona by Silver looks superb, with her white skin set off magnificently by her dark hair and outfit. Great makeup, and you really show the versatility of the character here in a Gothic fantasy setting.
